EditorProcess¶
Runs a process at edit time, not during play. Changes are saved and can be undone.
Namespace: Jungle.Processes
Menu: Jungle > Process > Editor Process
Inherits: JungleBehaviour → MonoBehaviour
Overview¶
EditorProcess runs a process while you edit a scene or prefab, outside of play mode. Whatever the process changes is recorded for Undo and saved with the scene or prefab. Use it for things that follow your edits, like redrawing a line when you drag a shape's handles, or for editor-only steps like baking and placing.
Only steps that finish straight away are supported. A step that needs more than one frame is finished immediately with a warning.
Properties¶
| Property | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| triggers | IEditorTrigger[] |
When the process runs. With none, it only runs when you press Run. Default: "When This Object Changes". |
| body | ProcessSlot |
The process to run. Only instant steps are supported. |
Triggers¶
Triggers decide when the process runs automatically. Add as many as you need, or leave the list empty to run it only from the Run button.
| Trigger | Description |
|---|---|
| When This Object Changes | Runs when you edit or move this object in the editor. Turn on "Include Children" to also react to edits on objects under it. |
Run Button¶
The Inspector shows a Run button that runs the process once on demand. This is available whether or not any triggers are configured.
Limitations¶
- Does nothing in play mode or in builds.
- Only instant steps run. A step that needs later frames is completed immediately with a warning logged.
- An Editor Process applies: its result is kept and can be undone. Every other component previews: what the preview changes is put back when it stops. While a preview runs on a copy, Editor Processes do not run, to avoid conflicting with the preview's own update loop.
